Last night was clearly a successful evening…the children totally “high” on sugar!
We always have some friends and family join us for Trick-Or-Treat night, the dad’s get to herd the children along the route to candy paradise and the mom’s get to sit back and enjoy a libation
But, before the mom’s “checked out,” we had fun making some spooky nosh!
Goulish Fingers
I found the recipe for Goulish Fingers in the Taste of Home Halloween Edition. We LOVED these salami and cream cheese roll-ups, although there were a few who removed the tomato fingernails. What is there not to love about a tomato???

Next up, “Bat” Wings

I deep fried the chicken wings (no flour or breading), in canola oil then tossed in a bowl of Frank's RedHot Wings Sauce (Buffalo Flavor). Did you know that Frank's RedHot was the secret ingredient used in the original Buffalo wings created in Buffalo, NY in 1964??? I did not know it either until I read it on the back of the bottle!
Deluxe Artichoke Dip
1 cup coarsely torn Fresh Bread Crumbs (I used bread crumbs made from Udi’s Gluten Free Bread that I make from the heels and keep stored in my freezer)
1 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup coarsely chopped fresh Parsley (I just used dried and eyeballed the amount until it looked pretty but not overdone)
1 cup Hellmans/Best Mayonnaise
1 (8-ounce) container of Sour Cream (I used Kroger’s Reduced Fat Sour Cream)
1 can (14-ounces) Artichoke Hearts, drained and chopped
1 jar (12-ounces) Marinated Artichoke Hearts, drained and chopped
1 clove Garlic, finely minced
2 Tbs. Olive Oil
Preheat oven to 350° F
Combine bread crumbs, 1/4 cup cheese and parsley in small bowl; set aside.
Combine mayo, sour cream, remaining 3/4 cup cheese, artichokes and garlic in medium bowl. Evenly spread artichoke mixture in 9-inch pie plate; top with bread crumb mixture, then drizzle with olive oil.
Bake uncovered 35 minutes or until heated through. Serve with your favorite dippers (We used tortilla chips).

Witch’s Brew
I made up a triple batch of Koolaid (I made Black Cherry favor, but any will do!)
Added a block of Dry Ice and voila!

We also roasted Hot Dogs over our fire pit… there is something very nostalgic for me to have the background aroma of a wood burning fire on Trick-or-Treat night! The kiddos went double duty tonight, for the first time they went out for 2 rounds of “begging.” I was really impressed with Sam, seeing that last year, when he still had his tonsils, he barely made it up the hill of our street, let alone go through 3 neighborhoods!
Found this cute idea in the Taste of Home Halloween Edition.
I made my spaghetti with Tinkyada GF Fusilli noodles.

The boys had fun with it and ate the spaghetti but scrapped the orange bell pepper…figures!
I made more cupcakes for Luke’s Halloween party at school tomorrow, but I toned it down a bit in the body part category! Two year olds can “spook” easily.

This is great. Between last night and tonight, I have had 3 Boo Grams delivered to my front door by a mystery neighbor, well, 3 mystery neighbors! What is a Boo Gram you ask? Click here to read all about it.
This is a lot of fun and a great way to get your neighborhood acquainted. I thought I would share the link, as it is not too late so go have some added Halloween fun! We are off to deliver our Boo Grams!

How to start the tradition:
1. Create a Boo Bag/Basket of goodies (if this is a new activity for your neighborhood, you may want to create 3 or 4)
3. Find your unsuspecting target
4. Make the “drop”
5. Ring the doorbell and knock
6. RUN!!!
I made some “spooky” gluten-free cupcakes to send to Sam’s class today and thought I would share what a lot of sugary icing and body parts gummy candy can do!

Sam loves Halloween and so do I. This time of year, I just let go and allow myself to be a kid again.
To run with abandon…
and be a part of his world.
