Glow Gluten Free Cookie Review

And a’Glowin’ I am! I was an exceptionally lucky gal to have received 4 boxes of Glow Gluten Free Cookies to sample and review on my blog. I say lucky for two reasons.

  1. These are without a doubt, the best packaged GF cookies I have ever had, and I have had quite a few!
  2. Glow Gluten Free Cookies are not sold in the state of New Mexico…yet. But you better believe that I will be campaigning to my local Whole Foods, Sunflower and R. Downs to find a way to make these cookies available to buy!

A little on Glow Gluten Free Cookies: Not only are they gluten-free, but they are also dairy/casein-free, have zero trans-fats, no preservatives and are all natural. Each cookie even delivers 2 grams of fiber from the Garbanzo and Fava Bean flours. They are also made in a dedicated gluten free facility for that added peace of mind.

A breakdown of each cookie:

First up for my brood to taste test: the Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I have to admit when I opened the package and read the letter from Jill Brack, she mentioned that after being diagnosed with celiac, she was “obsessed with creating a GF Chips Ahoy cookie.” I immediately poised myself to be disappointed. A couple of weeks ago when I did a post titled Gluten Free Shopping Spree, I reviewed a cookie and mentioned that if I could eat gluten, I would prefer a Soft Batch cookie over a Chips Ahoy. I just like a soft/chewy chocolate chip cookie better than I like a crunchy one. It’s a “Tomāto, Tomäto” sort of thing.

Well, I cannot say that anymore.

If I could eat gluten, I would still not eat a Chips Ahoy, but I WOULD eat a Glow Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie, they are that good! Here is the difference (taste wise) between Chips Ahoy and Glow Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies (in my opinion): Chips Ahoy, from what I remember, always seemed too dry and I would chug a glass of milk to wash it down. The Glow cookies, while crunchy, have a wonderful “homemade” buttery texture. A true melt in your mouth experience with the added bonus of a crispy crunch. I felt compelled to pour my milk in a wine glass and just savor the moment.

Glow's GF Chocolate Chip cookies are loaded with REAL chocolate chips, yum.

The cookies are huge! We actually split each cookie 4 ways!

Second, the Snickerdoodle Cookies.

This cookie was actually my favorite. Snickerdoodles were always a favorite of mine growing up and they taste even better than I remember. At first bite there was a light cinnamon-y essesence that reminded me of something that I could not quite put my finger on. Mike (almost simultaneously) quipped, “These remind me of Apple Jacks!” Oh yeah, that’s it! Mike and I both had a mutual affection for that cereal when we were kids. Apparently Mike was exceptionally fond of them because I woke up the next morning to Mike eating a bowl of crumbled up Snickerdoodles in a bowl with milk! I knew I should have hidden those cookies 😉

Third, the Double Chocolate Cookies.

Seriously, what can I say? If you love brownies, but especially the crispier edges, you are gonna flip over this cookie. It is one big crispy edge brownie cookie. Enough said? 😀

Yes, a bite is missing from this cookie, my little 2 year old's fingers couldn't resist when I left the room for a second!

Lastly, the Gingersnap Cookies.

Yummy. A classic gingersnap with a crunchy/chewy texture all in one cookie!

Jill Brack, you have hit the ball out of the park on this one, kuddos my gluten free friend!
